Teaming up with Maine Robotics

Besides our recent Call for Makers,  we are excited to share with you an event that is taking place in conjunction with the L-A MiniMaker Faire: the What Can You Build? Workshop!

Museum L-A is teaming up with Maine Robotics to offer a day long workshop that introduces 9 – 14 year old youth to the basics of building, modifying, and programing their own creations in a focused, hands-on environment. Girls and boys will work together using LEGO Mindstorm kits and software to create their own custom creations in this facilitated environment. If you or someone you know is interested in LEGO, Robotics, or the basics of modern engineering, then register now (link below).

This facilitated workshop is separate from the MiniMaker Faire, but the registration fee includes free admission to the Lewiston-Auburn MiniMaker Faire for exploration during breaks and at the end of the workshop. The workshop will run September 6,  from  9:00 am to 3:30 pm. Seating is limited, so Register in Advance to save your seat.  Workshop Registration Fee : $50.00 (includes all equipment, a snack & access to the Mini Maker Faire, does not include lunch).

2014 Call for Makers is Here!

Are you a hobbyist, tinkerer, engineer, creator or Maker?  Do you have a project or accomplishment  that you want to share with an enthusiastic audience?  If so, exhibit at the Lewiston-Auburn Mini Maker Faire!

Maker Faire is the Greatest Show (and Tell) on Earth—a family-friendly showcase of invention, creativity and resourcefulness, and a celebration of the Maker movement. It’s a place where people show what they are making, and share what they are learning.

The aim of Maker Faire is to entertain, inform, connect, grow and inspire this community.  In 2013, our Faire brought in 900 people, and we hope to double that number this year!  Some of the Makers at the 2013 L-AMMF included: robotics teams, wind turbines, bike part art, hackers, calligraphers, brain controlled software, and jewelry makers – in other words, something for everyone!

Our showcase is designed for Makers of all ages– anyone who embraces the do-it-yourself (or do-it-together) attitude is welcome here.  To exhibit at this year’s L-AMMF, apply here  and tell us more about what you’ve been making.  Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis.  Contact us at or (207)-333-3881 with any questions.
